Thank you to all the referees who came to our end of year party at Mountain Mike's on Sunday. It was great to see everyone and we enjoyed giving out some raffle prizes, awards, and the usual swapping of referee stories!
Our 2018 Award winners were announced. Congratulations to all of these PSRA referees for their outstanding efforts this year:
Ironman of the Year - Gary Purnell
Ironwoman of the Year - Peyton Boone
Most Centers - Sam Del Castillo, Niki Kincaid
Mentorship - Jake Krakauer
Centers & Mentors - Daniella Smith
Youth Referee of the Year - Evan McConnaughey
Youth Referee of the Year - Peyton Boone
We also want to take this time to thank all of our PSRA referees for your hard work and dedication this year. In 2018, we covered over 2,000 matches with over 5,000 individual positions on the pitch across Recreation, Club League, Adult League, NPL, ECNL, State Cup and Tournament matches in Pleasanton. None of this is possible without the effort and commitment of our local referees.
This year was also an innovative one for PSRA. We rolled out our Centers & Mentors program to teach more referees how to carry the whistle and we took our first attempt at building out more All-Female crews during the Rage College Showcase. We expect both of these pioneering programs to expand in 2019.
Lastly, we must thank our clubs for their tremendous support and partnership this year. PSRA is privileged to work with two outstanding clubs, BUSC and RAGE, right here in Pleasanton. Thank you to Sam and Kevin and the team at BUSC, and to Jon, Philippe and the team at RAGE. PSRA appreciates all you do for soccer in Pleasanton and for your tremendous support of PSRA and our referees.
Happy Holidays to everyone in the Pleasanton soccer community. We'll see you for a last few chilly December matches and then we'll be back on the pitch in 2019!
